Can I change my order?
Of course! We know race plans (and minds) can change.
Any change — like frame choice, shipping address, or event location — may incur a change fee
The exact fee depends on how far along your order is in our design and production process.
Need to cancel? We handle cancellations on a case-by-case basis. A minimum 5% cancellation fee may apply.The sooner you reach out, the easier it is for us to help!
Can you make my race or event?
YES! We love custom work.
If your event isn’t already in our catalog, we can create a custom course map for your race, route, or personal challenge.
Just send us your event name, location, and any details you’d like to include (route, distances, finish line, etc.), and we’ll bring your race to life in wood.
If your event was prior to 2020, and you don’t still have access to your specific course map, we’d recommend reaching out prior to ordering so we can make sure we can still find the necessary information for that event!
Do you offer returns or exchanges?
Because each map is custom-made to order, we can’t accept returns or exchanges.
If your map arrives damaged or with an error that wasn’t on the approved proof, please contact us within 14 days so we can make it right.
Note: We work with real wood, so natural variations like knots and wood grain are completely normal — and part of the charm!
Can I personalize my map?
Absolutely! That’s the best part.
You can add your name, race time, bib number, distance, date, or event location in the personalization box on the product page, or email dan@racemaps.com after checkout.
Some fun personalization ideas:
- Race time and finish place
- Training partners or team names
- “First marathon” or “Ironman finisher” details
- Memorable quote or course nickname
Will I get to see my map before you make it?
Yes! We’ll send a PDF proof to review before production begins.
Please double-check every detail — once approved, we can’t make changes.
Colors in the proof may vary slightly from the final engraved wood.
To keep your order on schedule, please reply within 48 hours.If we don’t hear from you within 4 days, we’ll assume everything looks great and move your order into production.
How many edits can I make to my proof?
You can make up to three rounds of reasonable edits to your proof.After that, a minimum $30 design fee may apply.
When will my order ship?
- Standard orders: Around 2 weeks
- Custom courses or designs: May take a bit longer (we’ll keep you posted)
- Holiday season: Please allow up to 4 weeks — shop early!
- Rush orders: Contact us ASAP to see if we can meet your race day or gift deadline (rush fees may apply).

Do you take custom event requests?
Absolutely! We love bringing new events to life.Whether it’s a local 5K, trail ultra, or a bucket-list race, we can design a map that captures your accomplishment in detail.
I’d love a branded map, but I don’t see an existing partnership. Are you working on new partnerships?

Not quite — our maps are a little too large to wrap beautifully.
