Each map is custom-designed to commemorate your accomplishment — whether it’s a triathlon, marathon, cycling race, or open water swim. Proudly made by hand in our Indiana workshop, every piece is built from locally sourced, heirloom-quality materials that turn your athletic achievement into timeless art.
Water Style Options
Customize the look and feel of your map’s water layer by selecting your water color and the dimension style.
Navy Blue – A rich, dark blue stain for a bold, timeless look.
Ocean Blue – A dreamy light blue wash for a soft, coastal vibe.
Frame Options
Your map is framed by hand in your choice of four premium frame options. Each frame is carefully selected to complement the natural wood tones of your map while providing a durable, heirloom-quality finish.
Map Sizes
Choose the perfect fit for your space. We offer three size categories, each with two possible dimensions. We will select the aspect and orientation that best fits your location’s shape so your map looks its best.
Note: Measurements are for the map itself. Adding a frame increases overall size by about 3 inches. Custom sizes are available upon request. Contact us for info!
Personalization & Proofing
- Event & athlete personalization – Provide the event name, date, and any other important details so we can map the correct event. If you’d like to add athlete information such as name, times, bib number, etc., please provide that as well.
- Pre-2020 event? If your race was before 2020 and you don’t have access to the specific course map, please reach out before ordering so we can confirm we can find that event info.
- Proof before production – You’ll receive a digital PDF proof to review and approve before we begin crafting your map.

- Design – Our cartographer hand-draws your map with the details you’ve requested.

Proof – We’ll send a digital PDF proof within about 7 business days (longer during busy times).
- - Please make sure you can receive emails from @racemaps.com.
- - If we don’t hear back after several attempts, we’ll assume the proof is approved and move your order into production.
- - Be sure to review carefully—any missed errors are the customer’s responsibility.
- Production – Once approved, we laser-cut, engrave, assemble, and frame your map right here in our Indiana workshop.
- Finish – Your map is hand-packaged with care and shipped to your door—ready to hang and built to last. Each piece combines true craftsmanship with heirloom quality.
